All in a day's work.

Moving on, a new chapter.

ORD'ed on 10/05/2008, also my 2nd Sister Wedding day.

Freelance for two months as a facilitator and took on sport's and tree climbing level one certification, Kayaking Personal Proficiency 2 Star Award.

Two months, and i mean it.

Been to a few job interviews and got myself into Facilities Management.

10/07/2008
First day of on-the-job training at Ministry of Information, Communications & the Arts (MICA) became months, then couple of weeks at Ministry of Health (MOH), and now, under Centre for Corporate Excellence as a Service Improvement Executive back in HQ located @ Novena Square.

My job scope: As the name suggested, Centre for Corporate Excellence.
I'm currently looking into improving the Integrated Management System (IMS), service quality, work processes, procedures, manuals, Code of Practices etc.

Working on a series of guidebooks, namely 50, but more is to come.
Collaboration with my former school, Temasek Polytechnic (TP), on Interactive 3D model to simulate facilities management related issues.

4months, since i started work.
Life have been really kind to me, looking back with no regrets.
There's many things i miss, no doubt.
People come, people go.. But some stayed on.

Sometimes i wonder, how life just carry on and on and on.
Feelings may change, renewal for hope.
Whatever will be, will eventually be.

Random Updates (June)

Random updates for June~
Final Theory Test: Passed
OC, Instructor Dialogue: Done
OO, DY Meeting: Pending
SCDF Swim Meet 2007 [3rdAug07']: Training

To do list:
1) Dental - Remove wisdom tooth!!
2) Upgrade PC
3) Self-study Financial Management
4) Be a better listener

Been having weird dreams of friends having accident, trapped in laboratory with giant spiderwebs etc.. [Apprehensive] thinking through what i have achieve in life so far, n' what's my contingency plan for the future when i have to support my own family, manage my job/business n' social cycle of friends.

I'm an optimist. No matter what happens i'll still firmly believe in myself that as long as i don't give up, nobody ever will give up on me. Being an Instructor led me to open up myself (literally) on being a better listener, counselor and negotiator. There is a story behind every faces n' it's up to us to understand n' analyse the situation in order to lend a helping hand to the others. Will i be able to do it? The answer lies in me to find out. I will. Try my best. My very best.

Changes for the better. Better for the changes.

The next Wave - Buzzar!!

Innoventure Pictures!~

Event: Innoventure Land
Venue: P.ris HomeTeamNS (HTNS)
Time: 1200-2000hrs

"Welcome to the SCDF Innoventure land, we proudly launch our next Wave 'The Buzzar' which derive from Bazzar so like-minded people (Wise men) will eventually come (buzz) together to contribute ideas for the new era of fire-fighting for the next generation. TOP PRIZE FOR TODAY: $1000 n' a trophy!!"

Ok, i arrived @ P.ris park ard 1130hrs with 5 other instructor, 4ERS (Emergency Rescue Specialist), 4 Senior officer, n' one civilian. Had an ice-breaking games down the p.ris beach which required 12 people to use a tied rope to swing from one point into a allocated 'small' area n' count 60. n' We managed to do that within 40s!! Impressive? No. One team did it within 27s n' we were like.. WT!!

In any case, we got 2nd-runner up n' got to choose our lunch (Marcaroni, tempura shrimp, crabmeat, oyster) n' picked a bungolow to check-in. [Some got 'lucky n' had tentage/ground sheet for their team. Had a fulfilling lunch n' fun brain storming for ideas before tea-break came so soon. We had curry puff (Lotsa!!) Cakes ranging from strawberry cake, panda cake, and Chocolate peppermint cake.

Although we didn't win any prizes (sad to say) as we'll didn't bring out much of an idea to implement to the existing Water Mist Gun (WMG), we still had FUN!! A scheduled BBQ turned out to be ready-make buffet-spread with yummy!! Helped myself to every lil' thing n' had my fair share to fill up my tummy. [Food for thought!!

08/06/07 (Friday)
Attend Facilitator Talk @ CDA.

1/2day!! =p

Post dedicated to Krabi.

Krabi Pictures!~

First of all, i wld like to express my gratitude to everyone who made this trip possible.

- My Family!^^ [For all the permission, support n' well-wishes]
- To Krabian's [Syarif for booking the tickets, Firr for the accommodation, Izuan for being my model for many of the pictures taken, Damian for being critically opinionated]
- n' to Many many others who i met along the way~ Thanks!

Day1.
On 29thMay07'(Tues), Krabian's met up at 1430hrs @ Changi Airport (T2) and had lunch at the Staff Canteen. Holiday mood was already infused in our Lunch as Syarif ordered Thai beef noodles, and we started discussion on things we gg to do for the first day. Went to basement n' took the shuttlebus to Budget Terminal and settled down @ Han's for desserts.

Check-in @ 1600hrs n' went into the DFS.

Syarif went ahead to the free-internet zone n' downloaded sport's bloopers from Youtube n' we started to lose control over our laughter... Ok, not so graceful but you can't expect much from bloopers. The vid was just brainless but nonetheless we had fun laughing out loud. (-__-||)

Board the tiger airplane @ 1805hrs n' arrived @ Thailand - Krabi @ 1845hrs. [Flight Duration: 1hrs40mins; Based on time zone, Thailand is 1hr behind SG]
No jetlag but we were getting all too excited as we're expecting our "Driver" to receive us @ the Foyer, hence we greeted the first person we saw with one of our Krabian's name: Fikkdaus [Corrected: Firrdaus]. The other drivers was cheering/jeering as we're the first to arrive at the foyer. We followed our driver to the van but we noticed that apart from the administrative error of our krabian name, the resort stated on the piece of paper was - Ao Nang Beach Resort.

Ok, we're supposed to go to Golden Beach Resort so we went back to the foyer to double-check n' grabbed the right guy but *still* with the wrong spelling... I can't uds but ohh well, i'm glad they didn't write in thai. (^ ^,)

Golden Beach Resort is situated right beside the beach, we can hear n' almost feel the whooshing of the wave on our body as the sea breeze wheeze through right from the entrance into the reception counter. To our delight, we were served with fruit punch n' managed to picked up some thai - khaawpL khoonM khrap (spoken politely by a male:"Thank You"~) [http://www.thai-language.com/dict/]
Check-in. A307, A308.

Shared the same room [A308) with Firr n' Damian, unpacked n' prepare stuff for Day2, bath n' turn-in for the night. Lovely night.

Day2
Meetup @ 8am n' had breakfast - buffet-style.
Innocently, izuan n' syarif queued for the Omelette n' ordered "Everything" in which ham (Read: Non-halah) was part of the ingredient. Ok, next time you guys had better-know "Everything" comes with a price~ So better d.check what you eat the next time!^^

Brought 5 tickets (To/Fro) to transfer between Ao nang beach n' Railey Beach for 120baht/pax. Board the Long-tail boat n' it took almost 20mins which was seriously painstakingly slow as we saw speedboat cruising effortlessly from point to point...

On this particular oversea trip i tried the "real" Rock-wall climbing at Railey [1000baht/pax for 4hrs]. Don the harness n' headed straight to the rockwall which was abt 10mins walk from the shop. As it was my "first time", i started off slow n' steady before i started picking up pace n' before i know it, i was at the top of a relatively low cliff for beginners.

Thereafter, i mount the next rock-wall which was seriously high!! Halfway through n' i was already perspiring like no body business n' my muscle ache started its act. Eventually I reached the top through sheer determination n' the view was almost orgasmic as i seriously can't believe i make it to the top!! Took pictures with my shivering hands [Read: Worn-out hands] n' rested at the top for several mins. Felt a pull on my rope n' i shouted: "READY!!FALLING!!" - Note! Not for the faint-hearted.

Reach the bottom of the cliff faster than i thought as i was "struggling" to lean back, hands off the wall n' legs straighten n' kick the wall from time to time. Well, Rock-climbing is addictive!! Conquered 5 rockwall in all. Cool~

Had seafood for dinner @ one of the roadside stall n' the food was good n' price was unbelievable CHEAP!! Although the stall ran out of PRAWNS (Read: BIG), they went to another nearby seafood stall just to get the PRAWNS for us... Service Excellent!

D3
Hit the massage palor located right beside our resort n' had Tradition Thai Massage, Foot Scrub, Face massage for 700baht... We were supposed to go for Thai massage only but the "offer" was made when we were most vulnerable... [It's ok to spend a lil' more to indulge n' enjoy life and pamper ourselves from time to time... It's ok.. It's ok. Extravagant!!]

Wohoo!! Shopping!! (Read: Turn me on.) Brought quite alot of nice stuff n'had to exchange addition $50 to satisfy my spending power spree... =p

Believe it or not, Double BIG MAC!!
That's what i had for dinner. =p

D4 - Home Sweet Home
Had breakfast @ 9am.
Made arrangement for transport to Krabi Town @ 1115hrs.
Had kfc for lunch. Note: Metal Fork, knife instead of plastic, Mug instead of paper cup. Think. Environmental.

Walk around the town trying to locate cinema in vain n' ended up @ Hollywood which is one of the stopover kinda' guesthouse concept to accommodate tourist (Bar/restaurant/Room/Transport service) n' cater to our every needs.

Transport @ 1600hrs; Arrival @ Airport 1615hrs.
Settled down @ the cafe n' had Thai Beef Soup Noodles for dinner before heading to board our plane. Touch down SG before 2000hrs n' brought Liquor, wines n' beers. Special thanks to Izuan Bro for sending me home.

I'm glad to be back in SG for i missed my Love ones.

Best Regards,
TJJ, Benson.
